Providing culturally responsive and affirming mental health care resources and support
In July of 2019, Our Mental Health Collective (OMHC), formerly Mental Health Clinicians of Color in Grand Rapids (MHCOCGR), was founded by Rebecca Spann along with founding members Tashuna Hunt, Janee Beville, Wesley Morgan, and Loanna Abreu. By 2020, we officially became a 501c3.
OUR MISSION
Our mission is to provide culturally responsive and affirming mental health care and support to (Black, Asian, African, Indigenous, Latine, and other marginalized communities) and providers.
We believe that mental health support should be accessible to everyone.
We strongly believe individuals from Black, African, Asian, indigenous, Latine, and other Communities of Color deserve access to mental health care that is culturally responsive and affirming. We also believe that LBGTQIA, Neurodiverse, and People with Disabilities of Color deserve the same level of care. It is our firm belief that mental health care should be easily accessible and not hard to find.
